I was reading an article about when is it safe to travel again. It went through a lot of requirements from different airlines and countries. Then discussed road trips and renting condos etc. I clipped the section below about vaccination passports. Germany expects to have one ready by summer according to Merkel. I hope the United States is working on a plan too.

Stress Of The Pandemic Can Cause Health Issues
Posted in Coronavirus, Health and wellness, tagged Coronavirus, Life, Mental health, Pandemic, Stress on October 15, 2020| 1 Comment »
Throughout the pandemic, people who never had the coronavirus have been reporting a host of seemingly unrelated symptoms: excruciating headaches, episodes of hair loss, upset stomach for weeks on end, sudden outbreaks of shingles and flare-ups of autoimmune disorders. The disparate symptoms, often in otherwise healthy individuals, have puzzled doctors and patients alike, sometimes resulting in a series of visits to specialists with few answers.
But it turns out there’s a common thread among many of these conditions, one that has been months in the making: chronic stress
.Although people often underestimate the influence of the mind on the body, a growing catalog of research shows that high levels of stress over an extended period of time can drastically alter physical function and affect nearly every organ system.
Now at least eight months into the pandemic, alongside a divisive election cycle and racial unrest, those effects are showing up in a variety of symptoms.
“The mental health component of COVID is starting to come like a tsunami,” says Dr. Jennifer Love, a California-based psychiatrist.Source: Stress Of The Pandemic Can Cause Health Issues. Here’s How To Cope : Shots – Health News : NPR

A loss of life that can’t be ignored

If two large planes crashed every day in the US, killing everyone on board, the nation would be despondent.
If the US suffered a loss of life on the scale of the 9/11 attacks — 50 times over — the tragedy would be incomprehensible.
But that’s how many lives coronavirus has claimed in the US since this pandemic started just six months ago. More than 150,000 Americans have died since the first US death in February. That means every day, an average of more than 850 Americans have died from COVID-19.

Quieter Oceans During Pandemic Give Marine Life A Break

When humpback whales migrated to Glacier Bay in Alaska this year to spend the long summer days feeding, they arrived to something unusual: quieter waters. As the global pandemic slows international shipping and keeps cruise ships docked, scientists are finding measurably less noise in the ocean. That could provide momentary relief for whales and other marine mammals that are highly sensitive to noise.
